Description
Marshmallow is a well known herbal remedy. It is a lubricating plant, the roots soothes the gastrointestinal tract and the leaves soothe the urinary system and the lungs.
This lubricating ability seems to relate to marshmallows affinity to grow in wetter places. Can tolerate some shade and heavier clay soils.
It is empowering to grow your own herbal medicines. I often try to grow herbs once Ive developed an affinity for them, it helps me learn about them more deeply, and hopefully stock up my apothecary! I hope you can do the same.
Growth Parameters:
Expect an herbaceous perennial 3 to 4 feet tall. Ideally plant in a moist soil with a good amount of sun.
