"Let's Create Lasting Relationships With These Wonderful Beings, Together."
About Me and My Nursery
My goal is to help people deepen their relationship with the natural world through directly interacting with plants. By working with plants and seeing how they live their lives, we can learn about ourselves and the world around us. All of the metaphors are present in the plant world.
I am focused on bare root plants that are edible, medicinal, good for wildlife or pollinators, native, or generally useful (erosion control, wood value etc.). Most of the plants have some combination of these qualities.
Check out my basics of bare root page to learn about how bare root plants are grown and when we plant them.
As a permaculture nursery, I strive to follow permaculture principles wherever possible. I think the multi-functional plant selections I grow are the main expression of those principles, but I also do my best to reuse materials, grow plants with naturally shaped root systems, create mutual relationships between plants, increase access to medicinal herbs, promote nutritious foods, compost, work with minimal machinery and more.
I am also heavily influenced by professional landscaping and organic vegetable farming and organic fruit orcharding. I meld each of these approaches to try and find common ground between people of different backgrounds and varying levels of experience working with plants. I love helping new gardeners so please send me a message if you have any questions!
I have been working with plants professionally since 2015 and am learning more and more every year. I started my nursery in 2021 with the help of Sean Dembrosky from Edible Acres. Sean genuinely cares deeply for all life and I can’t thank him enough for his support.
